After a string of three wins, the UIC College Prep Firecats's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 63-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of Clark. While losing is never fun, UIC College Prep can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 606th, while the Eagles are ranked 256th).
James Hodrick and Jayden Coleman certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Hodrick scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and two steals, while Coleman scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
UIC College Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 12-12. As for Clark, they pushed their record up to 14-12 with that win, which was their third straight at home.
UIC College Prep won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Pride at 10:00 a.m. on February 3rd. ITW David Speer Academy is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak. Clark does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
