Mathews and Lancaster squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Mathews had to settle for second. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Red Devils. The Blue Devils' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

The final score came out to 25-22, 22-25, 25-13, 25-12.

Mathews' defeat dropped their record down to 12-11. As for Lancaster, they are on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 16 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-5 record this season.
