On Friday, Tome ended up a good deal behind The Gunston School and lost 39-25. Tome has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The Gunston School found their leader in underclassman Layla Kent, who scored 27 points along with four steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which Kent has scored at least 25% of The Gunston School's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Kent, who scored two points along with nine rebounds and four steals.
Tome now has a losing record at 1-2. As for The Gunston School, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 4-5 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tome will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on West Nottingham at 4:00 p.m. on January 16th. As for The Gunston School, they will be playing at home against Salisbury at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Salisbury comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
