Softball Recap: Calhoun Makes It Four in a Row on the Road

Calhoun's rock-solid pitcher showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Pleasant Hill Wolves a 2-0 shutout. The victory continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Wolves: they've now won four in a row.

Not much got past Audrey Gilman, who gave up just two hits and racked up 15 Ks to keep Pleasant Hill off the board. Gilman has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 19 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Anabel Eilerman was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April of 2024.

Calhoun pushed their record up to 17-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Pleasant Hill, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-6 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Calhoun will host Murphysboro at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Pleasant Hill, they will be playing at home against Barry Western at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
