Basketball Recap: Muskegon Extends Winning Streak to Three

Muskegon put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They secured a 69-65 W over the East Lansing Trojans. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Big Reds also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2023.

Despite the loss, East Lansing still got an impressive performance from Kelvin (KJ) Torbert, Jr., who went 7 for 16 on his way to 26 points in addition to six boards and three steals. The contest was Torbert, Jr.'s fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jayce (JL) Branson, who posted 15 points.

Muskegon's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for East Lansing, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.

Muskegon has already played their next matchup, a 100-60 win against Everett on the 27th. As for East Lansing, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 74-50 victory against Sexton on the 28th.
