The Whiteville Wolfpack will head out on the road to face off against the Northeastern Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Whiteville sitting on seven straight wins and Northeastern on 13.
With a playoff game on the line, Whiteville rose to the challenge on Friday. They claimed a resounding 44-8 victory over the Cougars on the road. Whiteville might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won 11 contests by 21 points or more this season.
Meanwhile, even though Princeton scored an imposing 53 points on Thursday, Northeastern still came out on top. Northeastern walked away with a 62-53 win over Princeton.
Northeastern relied on the efforts of Trevaris Jones, who threw for 387 yards and four touchdowns while completing 73.3% of his passes, and Tyselle Spencer, who rushed for 255 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 15.0 yards per carry. Jones is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last three games he's played. Tyell Saunders did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 136 receiving yards.
Whiteville has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season. As for Northeastern, they have yet to lose a game at home this season, leaving them with a 13-0 record.
