The Balko Bison will face off against the Vici Indians at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Balko has three straight victories, Vici has seven straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Balko scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Forgan 71-37 at home. Balko has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 20 points or more this season.
Emelie Trentham was her usual excellent self, scoring 19 points along with six steals and five assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Estrella Martinez, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Vici suffered their biggest defeat since December 1, 2023 on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 61-29 loss at the hands of Shattuck.
Balko's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points per game. As for Vici, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-12.
Balko might still be hurting after the 52-30 loss they got from Vici in their previous meeting back in January of 2019. Can Balko avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
