The Northwood Gladiators's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 84-27 loss at the hands of Seneca Valley. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Northwood in their matchups with the Screamin' Eagles: they've now lost four in a row.
Seneca Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brielle Watson, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds. Watson hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for nine straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Addison, who scored 14 points along with five assists and two steals.
Northwood's defeat was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-11. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 21.7 points per game. As for Seneca Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.
Northwood will face off against the Titans at TBD on Friday. Einstein presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Gladiators in Maryland (the Titans are ranked 125th, while the Gladiators are ranked 268th). As for Seneca Valley, they will head out on the road to take on the Jaguars at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
