Basketball Game Preview: Heritage Christian Academy Chargers vs. St. James Academy Thunder

After both having extra time off, the Heritage Christian Academy Chargers and the St. James Academy Thunder will shake off the cobwebs and square off against one another at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Heritage Christian Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.6 points per game this season.

Last Friday, Heritage Christian Academy made easy work of Kansas City Christian School and carried off a 59-36 victory. The Chargers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 23 points or more this season.

Heritage Christian Academy found their leader in freshman Trey Chambers, who went 7 for 12 on his way to 18 points and six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Chambers has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Declan Schoff, who posted eight points in addition to ten boards and three steals.

Heritage Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, St. James Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch last Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They received a blow as they fell 68-54 to Saint Thomas Aquinas. While losing is never fun, the Thunder can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 89th, while the Saints are ranked 22nd).

St. James Academy now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Heritage Christian Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.
