Kennedy won the last time they faced American and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Titans blew past the Eagles 13-1. Winning may never get old, but the Titans sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Madelyn Montague and Marilyn Rivas made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Montague tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Rivas tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Montague has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one hit in five consecutive appearances. At bat, Montague scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3, while Rivas went 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI.
In other batting news, Hannah Cornell was incredible, going 1-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that she hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Juliette Dekker, who scored three runs while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.
Kennedy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as American only posted an OBP of .118.
Kennedy's record now sits at 6-2. As for American, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-11 record this season.
We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Kennedy will challenge rival Newark Memorial at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Titans 3.9, the Cougars 4.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
