Washington is 0-4 against Encinal since August of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Washington Huskies will play host again and welcome the Encinal Jets, where Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Encinal took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Washington, who comes in off a win.
Washington put the finishing touches on their third blowout victory of the season on Saturday. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 62-7 win over Mt. Eden. The victory was just what Washington needed coming off of a 35-10 defeat in their prior match.
Cameron Redd continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 256 yards and five touchdowns on only 14 carries. Redd was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 52 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Esean Johnson, who rushed for 136 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries.
Meanwhile, Encinal's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. Their rough 21-0 loss to Irvington might stick with them for a while. The last quarter was a mere formality, since the game's final score was reached by the end of the third quarter.
Washington's victory bumped their record up to 4-4. As for Encinal, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 1-7.
Washington was dealt a bruising 53-13 loss at the hands of Encinal when the teams last played back in October of 2021. Can Washington avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
