The South Mecklenburg Sabres and the Langtree Charter Lions will face off at 8:30 p.m. on December 28th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. South Mecklenburg will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line.
Last Friday, South Mecklenburg strolled past Mill Creek with points to spare, taking the game 67-53. Given South Mecklenburg's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 31st in North Carolina, while Mill Creek is ranked 157th in Georgia), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Anderson Skelton continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 16 points along with six steals and five rebounds. The game was his seventh in a row with at least ten points. Yariel Chudgar was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Meanwhile, Langtree Charter was beaten by Corvian Community 76-37 two weeks ago. Langtree Charter was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-17.
South Mecklenburg's win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.0 points per game. As for Langtree Charter, their loss dropped their record down to 1-9.
