Leominster's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Xavier Cora, who rushed for 117 yards on only 13 carries. Cora is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played. Aramis Reyes also helped out as he racked up 101 rushing yards.
Leominster's win was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 4-4. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-7 Algonquin Regional and 2-6 Wachusett Regional (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 33.3% over those games). As for Algonquin Regional, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Leominster will square off against St. John's Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. St. John's Prep presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Leominster in Massachusetts (St. John's Prep is ranked second, while Leominster is ranked 61st). As for Algonquin Regional, they will head out on the road to face off against Tantasqua Regional at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
