Baseball Recap: Quincy Takes a Loss

Quincy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They came up short against the Marshfield Rams, falling 9-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Presidents of the 11-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.

Quincy got a good showing from Kaiden Cipriano, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Cipriano has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Quincy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bryan Gustafson, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Gustafson has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. David Flannery was another, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases.

Quincy's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Marshfield, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Quincy will welcome Pembroke at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Marshfield, they will square off against Plymouth North at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
