This season hasn't been kind to the Sandhills Valley Mavericks, who are still winless after their 14th matchup. They had to suffer through a rough 58-28 loss at the hands of South Loup. Sandhills Valley has struggled against South Loup recently, as their contest on Friday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
It was another big night for Bryn Schwarz, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 14 steals for South Loup. That makes it 14 consecutive games in which Schwarz has scored at least a third of South Loup's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Josie Reiff, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Sandhills Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 0-14. As for South Loup, their victory bumped their record up to 4-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sandhills Valley will take on Hyannis at TBD on Tuesday. Hyannis has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 19. As for South Loup, they will be playing at home against Mullen on Friday.
