University School of Nashville fell just short of St. Cecilia Academy by a score of 39-37. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for University School of Nashville in their matchups with St. Cecilia Academy: they've now lost four in a row.
St. Cecilia Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Alexandra Epstein led the charge by scoring 11 points along with six assists and four steals. Those 11 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Galassini, who scored eight points along with 11 rebounds.
University School of Nashville's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for St. Cecilia Academy, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. University School of Nashville will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Battle Ground Academy at 6:15 p.m. on January 2, 2024.
