Eastern Mennonite hasn't had much luck against Blue Ridge recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Flames will be playing in front of their home fans against the Barons at 4:30 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Friday.
Eastern Mennonite's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Shenandoah Valley Academy 12-0. The Flames haven't had any issues with the Stars recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Chaysen Curry made a splash while hitting and pitching. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. He also brought in three RBI, marking his first of the season.
In other batting news, Isaac Ott was incredible, scoring three runs while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Mani Babar was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.
Eastern Mennonite was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
The home team had won the previous three meetings between Blue Ridge and Fishburne Military, and Blue Ridge kept the tradition alive. The Barons put the hurt on the Caissons with a sharp 12-2 win on Thursday. With that victory, the Barons brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.
Colby White was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off eight hits (and not a single walk). White was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.
In other batting news, Colt Chalmers and Charles Searby did most of the damage at the plate: Chalmers went 2-for-3 with three runs and one triple, while Searby scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. Another player making a difference was Jason Byers, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.
Eastern Mennonite's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Blue Ridge, their victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-6.
