Glenwood is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Lee-Scott Academy is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Glenwood Gators will welcome the Lee-Scott Academy Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Tuesday, Glenwood made easy work of Beulah and carried off a 79-53 victory.
Glenwood's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Braylen Alexander, who went 8 for 18 en route to 20 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jadarian Holloway, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 18 points along with six boards and five assists.
Meanwhile, Lee-Scott Academy blew past Dadeville, posting a 71-32 victory. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 69th, while the Tigers are ranked 408th), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Glenwood better focus on containing Haiden Harper and Chapman Harris as the pair were huge in Lee-Scott Academy's win. Harper went 7 for 14 en route to 20 points and four steals, while Harris went 5 of 7 on his way to 15 points. The dominant performance also gave Harris a new career-high in assists (four). William Liles was another key player, putting up eight points.
Lee-Scott Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in five consecutive contests.
Glenwood is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 25 points. As for Lee-Scott Academy, their win bumped their record up to 19-3.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Glenwood has been crashing the rebounds this season, having averaged 35.3 boards per game. However, it's not like Lee-Scott Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 35.2 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Glenwood came up short against Lee-Scott Academy in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 44-35. Will Glenwood have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other basketball content.
