Cornerstone Charter has won four straight games at home, while Bethany Community has won four straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Cardinals will host the Wolves at 6:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Cornerstone Charter barely beat Bishop McGuinness the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Cardinals were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Villains last Wednesday.
Tyler Smith made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out 11 batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs.

In other batting news, Jackson Shaffrey was excellent, going 1-for-4 with four RBI and one run. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Parker Daniels was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.
Meanwhile, while Bethany Community put up plenty of runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Atkins. The Wolves put the hurt on the Camels with a sharp 18-0 win.
Like Cornerstone Charter, Bethany Community also got a great game from a two-way player: Jacob Schick. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Schick has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Bethany Community got a massive performance out of Ryan Rudd, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Rudd is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Tripp White, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and three RBI.
Bethany Community was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .320 or higher in four consecutive contests.
Bethany Community is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Cornerstone Charter, their win bumped their record up to 11-7.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Cornerstone Charter has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.3 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Bethany Community struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Everything went Cornerstone Charter's way against Bethany Community in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Cornerstone Charter made off with a 9-3 victory. Do the Cardinals have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wolves turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
