Bethel Christian Academy won the last time they faced Scotland Christian Academy and things went their way on Monday too. The Trojans blew past the Saints 19-8. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by 11 runs or more this season.
Emersyn Smith and Suzanne Rouse were a major factor while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Smith pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Rouse pitched three innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. At bat, Smith scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Rouse went 3-for-4 with six RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those six RBI gave Rouse a new career-high.
In other batting news, Emma Ingram was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Cash, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-5.
Bethel Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Scotland Christian Academy, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7-1.
Looking ahead, Bethel Christian Academy will take on Wilmington Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Patriots have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.83 runs per game on average), something the Trojans will no doubt try to take advantage of.
