Waunakee is 8-2 against Reedsburg since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Warriors will face off against the Beavers at 11:00 a.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Waunakee let Vel Phillips Memorial stack seven runs on them in the fourth inning on Friday but luckily Waunakee prevailed anyway. The Warriors put the hurt on the Spartans with a sharp 14-7 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Warriors.
Zaria Hyman looked comfortable as she tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Audra Ubersox, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lauren Hansen, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.
Waunakee always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .524. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Reedsburg ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They won by a run and slipped past DeForest 3-2. Winning may never get old, but the Beavers sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Cheyenne Raupp spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on one hit.
At the plate, Kylee Molitor and Gretchen Rockweiler did most of the damage at the plate: Molitor went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases and one run, while Rockweiler went 3-for-5 with three doubles, two RBI, and one run. Abbie Scott also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Reedsburg pushed their record up to 13-11 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Waunakee, their record now sits at 11-12.
Waunakee took their victory against Reedsburg in their previous matchup back in April of 2023 by a conclusive 11-4 score. Do the Warriors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Beavers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
