Archbishop Spalding (13-13, 9-6), undefeated over its last seven games. The streak was extended by another 3 games over the past week, includinga 4-0 victory over Mount St. Joseph and a 16-2 win over McDonogh.
After a week in which it went 3-0, Archbishop Spalding jumped from 32 to 29 in the national rankings, the biggest increase in the league.
Mount St. Joseph's pitching was especially stingy this week, allowing 17 hits and 12 walks to lead the league in both categories. On the season, the Gaels have allowed just 196 hits, while striking out 127 batters.
