The Durant Lions will head out on the road to challenge the Will Rogers College Ropers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Durant is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
Durant suffered their biggest loss since December 1, 2023 on Friday. They were the victim of a tough 54-32 loss at the hands of Memorial. While losing is never fun, Durant can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 356th, while Memorial is ranked 46th).
Meanwhile, even though Coweta scored an imposing 55 points on Thursday, Will Rogers College still came out on top. Will Rogers College sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 58-55 victory over Coweta. With that win, Will Rogers College brought their scoring average up to 50.2 points per game.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Will Rogers College to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jay Oates iii, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Oates iii has scored all season. Dkarrion Titsworth was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Durant has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season. As for Will Rogers College, their win ended a ten-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-8.
Durant came out on top in a nail-biter against Will Rogers College in their previous matchup last Thursday, sneaking past 53-50. Will Durant repeat their success, or does Will Rogers College have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
