Monticello's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Amiah Neails, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds. Isabella Velasquez was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Monticello's win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-6. As for Port Jervis, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Monticello will square off against Sullivan West at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Sullivan West presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Monticello in New York (Sullivan West is ranked 230th, while Monticello is ranked 489th). As for Port Jervis, they will head out on the road to face off against Chester at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
