The Lyons Lions will head out on the road to take on the East Rochester Bombers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Lyons focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Wednesday.
Lyons unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak. They fell to Gananda Central 51-47. Lyons has not had much luck with Gananda Central recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Milleniyah Glanton, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. She hasn't dropped below three steals for four straight games. Ja'nyiah Bell was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with eight rebounds and four blocks.
Meanwhile, East Rochester stacked a tenth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Marion as East Rochester made off with a 54-31 victory.
Lyons' loss dropped their record down to 11-7. As for East Rochester, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.
Lyons beat East Rochester 64-51 when the teams last played on Saturday. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lyons since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
