Hillcrest was led to victory by Arreon "Tweety" Lopez and Sonija Evans. Lopez scored 11 points along with five rebounds and four steals, while Evans scored nine points along with nine steals and five assists. The game was Lopez's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Khole Clarke, who scored two points along with eight rebounds and five steals.
Hillcrest's victory bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Central, they bumped their record down to 0-7 with that loss, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Hillcrest will square off against Monroe County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Monroe County is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games. As for Central, they will be playing at home against Lanier at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Lanier has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 10.
