Mena owes their defense a big pat on the back after their performance on Friday. They blew past the Lamar Warriors 21-0. Considering the Bearcats have won three games by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The critical scores for Mena came from Tycen Baber, Hunter McClara, and Chance Hughes.

Mena didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Beck Vacca and Hughes. Hughes got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Mena's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 6.3 points on average over those games. As for Lamar, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
