After losing to The Sparkman Senators the last time they met, the Huntsville Panthers decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Huntsville came out on top against Sparkman by a score of 35-28 on Friday.
Huntsville got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jacks Mcclung out in front who threw for 175 yards and two touchdowns. Marlin Jones also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
When it comes to explaining why Sparkman lost, one person who can't be blamed is Josh Ward. Despite the final result, he rushed for 37 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 230 yards and a touchdown.
Huntsville is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-5 record this season. As for Sparkman, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-4.
Huntsville will take on Austin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Austin presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Huntsville in Alabama (Austin is ranked 25th, while Huntsville is ranked 88th). As for Sparkman, they will head out on the road to face off against Florence at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
