Even though the Prattville Lions scored an imposing 64 points on Wednesday, the Chilton County Tigers still came out on top. Chilton County snuck past the Lions with a 69-64 win. The win made it back-to-back wins for Chilton County.
Chilton County's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Justin Godwin, who scored 16 points along with eight assists and eight rebounds. It was the first time this season that Godwin posted eight or more assists. Another player making a difference was Bradin Yates, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds.
Ty Bryant and Isaiah Bradley certainly did their best on Wednesday to avoid the loss. Bryant scored 17 points along with six rebounds and two steals, while Bradley scored 19 points. Bryant hasn't dropped below 15 points for three straight games. Tyler Smith was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Chilton County's victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 15-15. As for Prattville, they are on a 15-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-25.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chilton County will square off against the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Prattville, they will head out on the road to face off against the Phoenix at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Percy Julian presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Lions in Alabama (the Phoenix are ranked 113th, while the Lions are ranked 300th).
