Regina Dominican has gone a perfect 10-0 against DePaul College Prep recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Panthers will square off against the Rams at 4:30 p.m. Regina Dominican will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
It was a proper cat-fight when Regina Dominican took on Woodlands Academy on Tuesday. The Panthers' pitcher stepped up to hand the Wildcats an 18-0 shutout. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won five in a row.
Izzie Christensen was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Clare Levar also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Regina Dominican was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .656. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, DePaul College Prep hadn't done well against Saint Ignatius College Prep recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Rams put the hurt on the Wolfpack with a sharp 8-2 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rams.
Lauren Steele made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one RBI.
In other batting news, Kylie Johnson was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Those two hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ella Foeller, who earned two runs and two stolen bases.
Regina Dominican's record now sits at 6-3. As for DePaul College Prep, their record is now 6-16.
