If IMG Academy Blue was riding high fresh off their 11-1 takedown of Central Pointe Christian Academy last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Ascenders took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of The Villages Charter Buffalo on Friday. The Ascenders' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

IMG Academy Blue got a good showing from Adam Zheng, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Zheng has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances.

IMG Academy Blue's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for The Villages Charter, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season.
