Everything came up roses for Clear Lake against New Hampton on Friday as the team secured a 42-7 victory. The lopsided score is just par for the course this season for Clear Lake, who can brag about five blowout wins.
Clear Lake's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 35 points in the first half. New Hampton wasn't quite able to keep up, scoring 7 to make it 35-7 heading into the break. The Clear Lake defense stood its ground in the third quarter, giving up 0 and all but finishing the game. The contest brought Clear Lake to 6-2 and dropped New Hampton to a mirror-image 2-6.
Both teams are staying within the conference for their upcoming matches. Next week Clear Lake take on Iowa Falls-Alden at 7:00 PM. New Hampton will take on Hampton-Dumont/Cal at home . New Hampton have seen their point totals decreasing over the past three games, a vulnerability Hampton-Dumont/Cal are surely hoping to exploit.
