Rockford East is 0-10 against Rockford Auburn since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. Hopefully Rockford East focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Tuesday.
Rockford East struggled with assists on Tuesday (Belvidere had 1100% more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Rockford East had to suffer through a rough 68-28 loss at the hands of Belvidere. Rockford East was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-13.
Olivia Irvin was Rockford East's leading scorer, having posted nine points.
Aubrey Phillip took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.
Meanwhile, after only 25 points in their last contest, Rockford Auburn made sure to put some points up on the board against Freeport on Tuesday. Rockford Auburn enjoyed a cozy 60-41 win over Freeport. The win was all the more spectacular given Rockford Auburn's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 429th, while Freeport is ranked 151st).
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 2-3.
Rockford East was taken down by Rockford Auburn 60-25 when the teams last played back in February. Can Rockford East avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
