Football Recap: Cambridge/Salem Piles Up the Points Against Voorheesville

Cambridge/Salem won the last time they faced Voorheesville and things went their way on Saturday too. Cambridge/Salem simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Voorheesville 50-7. With Cambridge/Salem ahead 43-0 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Cambridge/Salem's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Myles Mattson, who picked up 90 receiving yards and two scores. Jackson Rowland got in on the action as well, returning a kick for a touchdown.

Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 12 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Mattson, who ran a punt back for a touchdown. Another bright spot was a kickoff return touchdown from Rowland.

Cambridge/Salem didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Mattson and Nathan Lord.

The win made it two in a row for Cambridge/Salem and bumps their season record up to 4-1. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.5 points over those games. As for Voorheesville, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-5.
