Archie Williams' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brian Wright, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. Wright is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last six games he's played. Owen Bugas was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with three steals.
When it comes to explaining why Miramonte lost, one person who can't be blamed is Marcus Robinson. Despite the final result, he scored 29 points along with three steals and two blocks. Robinson hasn't dropped below 15points for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Chris Kaufhold, who scored six points along with 20 rebounds and six assists.
Archie Williams now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Miramonte, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-4.
Archie Williams will face off against Encinal at 2:15 p.m. on Monday. Encinal will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 940th, while Archie Williams is ranked 233rd). As for Miramonte, they will head out on the road to face off against Northgate at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Northgate will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
