The Cathedral Catholic Dons will face off against the Granite Hills Eagles at 5:00  p.m.  on Monday.
Cathedral Catholic had to start their season on the road  on Saturday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell just short of Otay Ranch by a score of  4-2.
 Sophia Clark was a  force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she  pitched five innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run off   four  hits.
 At the plate,  Nia Talatiana was cooking despite her team's loss,   scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 2-for-3.  Tyler Price was another key player,  going 2-for-4 with one  double and one  RBI.
Meanwhile, Granite Hills sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  4-2  win over Westview  on Saturday.
The team  relied heavily on  Mia Downes, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-2.
 Granite Hills  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .556. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Westview only posted  an  OBP of  .333.
 Cathedral Catholic was able to grind out a solid  victory over Granite Hills when the teams last played  back in April of 2021, winning  9-6. Will Cathedral Catholic repeat their success,  or does  Granite Hills have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
