The Akron Rams were the 45-35 winner over the Idalia Wolves when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Akron was just a bucket shy of victory on Thursday and fell 28-27 to Idalia.
Loss or not, Akron got some senior leadership from Addicyn Kessinger who scored 9 points along with 10 rebounds and 4 steals and Kinsey Grauer who scored 10 points along with 8 rebounds. Kessinger scored a full 33.3% of Akron's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Idalia's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Krista Wieser, who scored 13 points along with 5 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jaylyn Kechter, who scored 4 points along with 14 rebounds.
Akron's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Idalia, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Akron will be playing at home against Otis at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Idalia's road trip will continue as they head out to face Stratton at 6:00 p.m. on December 8th.
