Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Aurora West College Prep Academy). They came out on top against the Poudre Community Academy Warriors by a score of 63-51 on Wednesday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Spartans as it put an end to their 13-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jaden Padilla, who posted seven points and three steals. Heilan Barrick was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Aurora West College Prep Academy's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-8. As for Poudre Community Academy, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-4.

Aurora West College Prep Academy will venture away from home to face off against Ascent Classical Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 22nd. As for Poudre Community Academy, they will host Nederland at 6:30 p.m. on January 22nd.
