The Columbia Wildcats can now show off 11 landslide victories after their most recent match on Tuesday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 56-27 win over Purvis. The win was nothing new for Columbia as they're now sitting on four straight.
It was another big night for Jakira Brown, who scored 22 points. She hasn't dropped below 15points for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Payshunce Sims, who scored ten points.
Several Tornadoes players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Breleigh Adkins, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds. Adkins hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for six straight games. Systren Eliza Elenus was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Columbia's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-4. As for Purvis, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-5.
Columbia will head out on the road to square off against Poplarville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Poplarville is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for Purvis, they will be playing at home against Lawrence County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Lawrence County knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matchups -- so hopefully Purvis likes a good challenge.
