Make it nine blowout wins for the Tippecanoe Valley Vikings this season. Everything went their way against Wawasee on Tuesday as Tippecanoe Valley made off with a 52-31 win. The win was familiar territory for Tippecanoe Valley who now have four in a row.
Leading Tippecanoe Valley to victory were Chesnee Miller and Ava Egolf. Miller scored 14 points along with five steals, while Egolf scored 24 points along with nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Egolf has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Gaby Gonzalez, who scored no points along with six steals.
Mackenzie Hackleman and Kaydence Shepherd certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Hackleman scored eight points along with five rebounds and four steals, while Shepherd scored five points along with three steals. Hackleman is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played.
Wawasee struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Tippecanoe Valley's victory was their 18th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.3 points per game. As for Wawasee, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-8 record this season.
Tippecanoe Valley will head out on the road to square off against Manchester at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday. Manchester will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 140th, while Tippecanoe Valley is ranked 42nd). As for Wawasee, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Whitko at 7:45 p.m. Whitko is coming into the match hot, having won their last eight games.
