The St. Paul Lutheran Giants's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Viburnum Blue Jays at 1:00 p.m. on December 27th. St. Paul Lutheran will be strutting in after a win while Viburnum will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Monday, St. Paul Lutheran didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Bourbon, but they still walked away with a 41-36 win. The victory was just what St. Paul Lutheran needed coming off of a 43-20 defeat in their prior matchup.
Mia Sherrill continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 18 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of St. Paul Lutheran's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Julie Lunsford, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Meanwhile, Viburnum's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 57-22 loss at the hands of Bunker. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Viburnum has scored all season.
St. Paul Lutheran's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-5. As for Viburnum, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.
St. Paul Lutheran came up short against Viburnum in their previous meeting on December 4th, falling 41-36. Can St. Paul Lutheran avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
