Last Tuesday, Valley Vista faced Desert Vista in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Valley Vista was the victim of a tough 64-43 defeat at the hands of Desert Vista. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Valley Vista has scored all season.
Despite their loss, Valley Vista saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Tysyn Johnson, who scored 11 points, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Deja Strong, who scored nine points.
Valley Vista struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Tolleson's three-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. Everything went their way against West Point as Tolleson made off with a 45-21 victory. Tolleson has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 24 points or more this season.
Valley Vista's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Tolleson, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Everything came up roses for Valley Vista against Tolleson when the teams last played back in January of 2023 as the team secured a 70-17 win. Does Valley Vista have another victory up their sleeve, or will Tolleson turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
