The Hastings Tigers lost against the Elkhorn Antlers back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Hastings suffered a rough 67-41 defeat at the hands of the Antlers. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Hastings in their matchups with the Antlers: they've now lost four in a row.
Elkhorn's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Nixon Farmer, who scored 17 points along with seven assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Petersen, who scored 11 points along with six blocks and two steals.
Hastings has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season. As for Elkhorn, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hastings and the Vikings will face off on February 8th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Elkhorn, they will head out on the road to take on the Bears at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Blair will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings (they are ranked 119th, while the Antlers are ranked seventh).
