In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Halle Hoyt, who went 2-for-4 with four stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Hoyt is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Kenadie Henry, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Beaverton, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over Montabella on Wednesday. The win was some much needed relief for the Beavers as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Like St. Louis, Beaverton also got a great game from a two-way player: Brooke Remer. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Remer was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
In other batting news, Jadyn Bair was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Elizabeth Harrell was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
Beaverton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 2-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Beaverton's victory bumped their record up to 3-6. As for St. Louis, the win got them back to even at 5-5.
St. Louis' speedy runners might be the difference in Thursday's game. The Sharks have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Beaverton, though, as they've been averaging only 0.8 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will St. Louis continue to outrun the ball?
St. Louis couldn't quite get it done against Beaverton in their previous matchup back in May of 2017 as they fell 5-1. Will the Sharks have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
