4A Region I District 2 recap September 4, 2013
Parkland's ANTHONY DUDLEY rumbled for the longest rushing play in 4A Region I District 2 this season in his game against El Paso last week. DUDLEY ran for 69 yards on the play and finished with 112 on the day as his team topped the Tigers.
Joseph Fresquez and Adomaitis Valenzuela provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Austin. The connection went for 72 yards, the longest such play in the league this season.
ANDRES SILVA put up the best numbers in passing as Parkland bested El Paso. He finished with a total of 5 completions for 83 yards and 30 touchdowns.
Fresquez provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Horizon defeated the Panthers. He completed 8 passes for 182 yards and 4 touchdowns and also ran for 94 yards. Fresquez's favorite target this week was Valenzuela, who caught 4 passes for 204 yards.
Erik Camacho was the best running back in the league this week. He ran for 163 yards on 9 carries as the Scorpions beat Austin.
Valenzuela was the best receiver in 4A Region I District 2 this week as Horizon beat Rodney Ryan's team. Camacho helped Horizon's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 50 yards.
Eastlake was the team made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from seventh to third in the league. The Falcons vanquished Cathedral 59-10 earlier in the week.
