Lumberton is 9-1 against Fairmont since December of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Lumberton Pirates will head out on the road to face off against the Fairmont Golden Tornadoes at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Lumberton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 31 two weeks ago.
Lumberton couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a 50-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of Fairmont.
Despite the loss, Lumberton had strong showings from Jaiden Shephard, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 16 rebounds, and Damian Robinson, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 10 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Nakoma Scott, who scored 2 points along with 3 blocks.
Lumberton's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Fairmont, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Lumberton came up short against Fairmont when the teams last played two weeks ago, falling 50-37. Can Lumberton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
