The Jerome Tigers will be taking part in a tournament against the Centennial Patriots at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Having struggled with four losses in a row, Jerome turned things around against Moscow on Friday. They put the hurt on the Bears with a sharp 18-9 victory. Considering the Tigers have won three matchups by more than eight runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Ellie Helmer and Kourtney Harris did most of the damage at the plate: Helmer went 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs, while Harris went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Harris has been hot recently, having posted three or more hits the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Capreece Beilke, who went 1-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Jerome lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in March of 2025.
Meanwhile, Centennial was not the first on the board on Friday, but they got there more often. They came out on top against Madison by a score of 9-5.
Charlize Veldhouse was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Cali Moorhouse was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs and one double.
The win got Centennial back to even at 2-2. As for Jerome, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4.
Saturday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Jerome has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .552. However, it's not like Centennial struggles in that department as they've averaged .538. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Jerome got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in March of 2023 against Centennial by a conclusive 13-5 score. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Patriots have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
