The Heath Bulldogs have been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 55-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Licking Heights on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Heath can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 214th, while the Hornets are ranked 44th).
Heath lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Preston Devito, who scored 20 points. Devito is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaxon Duston, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds.
Heath's defeat dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Licking Heights, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 14-2.
Heath will be playing in front of their home fans against the Vikings at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Northridge is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for Licking Heights, they will square off against the Blue Aces at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Granville's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three contests.
