St. Croix Falls has gone a perfect 9-0 against Unity recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. Tuesday just wasn't the day for St. Croix Falls' offense. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cameron on Tuesday. The Saints have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Faith Allram spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 15 consecutive appearances.
Meanwhile, Unity also suffered a loss in their last game, falling to Barron by a score of 8-5. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Golden Bears recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Madison Wilhelm put in work no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Wilhelm was also solid in the batter's box, earning two runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Kyra Cox made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season.
St. Croix Falls' defeat dropped their record down to 16-9. As for Unity, their loss dropped their record down to 2-14.
Unity's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. St. Croix Falls has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.5 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Unity, though, as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.8 strikeouts. Will St. Croix Falls keep running through batters, or will the Eagles buck the trend?
