Softball Recap: Legion Collegiate Academy Wins Going Away Against Palmetto

Legion Collegiate Academy picked up another tournament win on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Palmetto Mustangs as the Legion Collegiate Academy Lancers made off with a 13-5 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lancers.

Gracyn Hagler was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Savannah Cornwell, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4.

Legion Collegiate Academy's win bumped their record up to 6-4-1. As for Palmetto, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-6.

Looking ahead, Legion Collegiate Academy will take on Weddington at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Weddington will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something Legion Collegiate Academy surely won't give up without a fight. As for Palmetto, they will challenge James F. Byrnes at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Palmetto has given up an average of 7.5 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
